Straight off the back of his releases on Hydrogen Inc, Rough Cut, and Bakroom. Socket Hog returns with "Purple Dragon" a ten-track album that took 2 years and 3 collaborations to complete. Some of the highlights on the album include "Dats Bass Music" with regular collaborator and friend Jamez (Touche /Rough Cut Records). "The Drums" is another track that captures a marching hypnotic groove, drenched with analog synths washed over a sinewave style bass, a killer tribal groove, and slow evolving pads that add texture and fill the track out nicely.

The title track off the album "Purple Dragon" is a stripped-down house cut harking to the sound of some of Socket Hog's favorite deep house labels like Plastic City and I records. Other highlights include "Camarada", a collaboration with OUD!N13 aka Nicolas Gaugain of French production duo G-Prod. Smooth melodic tones, some occasional white noise, tough drum programming, and precisely programmed synths intricately weave through complex chord progressions, building to a wondrous breakdown, before subtly rebuilding all elements.
